Who this policy covers
This policy applies to information handled by MooseRank through mooserank.com, including the contact form and the MOOSE audit experience. MooseRank is based in Huntington, New York. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@mooserank.com.
Information you choose to provide
Depending on how you use the site, you may provide:
- Contact information: your name, work email, optional phone number, and the contents of your message.
- Business context: a website or domain, service or niche, target location, and the type of SEO help requested.
- Audit follow-up information: your contact details and your affirmative choice to receive the requested audit and relevant follow-up.
Please do not submit passwords, payment-card data, government identifiers, health information, or other sensitive personal information through these forms.
Information processed automatically
When the site receives a request, our hosting and security infrastructure may process basic technical information such as an IP address, browser and device details, timestamps, requested pages, and security signals. MooseRank converts the IP address associated with form and audit requests into a one-way cryptographic hash used for abuse prevention and rate limiting; the raw address is not stored in the application database.
The site does not currently use advertising pixels or analytics cookies. Essential hosting or security technologies may still be used to deliver the site and protect it from misuse.
How we use information
We use information to:
- generate the audit preview or full audit you request;
- respond to inquiries and discuss relevant MooseRank services;
- research a submitted website, market, and search opportunity;
- prevent spam, enforce rate limits, and protect the service;
- maintain records of requests and improve the reliability of the website; and
- meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Submitting the general contact form does not add you to a mailing list. Audit follow-up is sent only after the required consent box is selected, and you may opt out of nonessential follow-up at any time.
Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers only where they support the website or the service you request. They may process limited information on our behalf:
- Hosting and security providers deliver the site, store application records, and help detect abuse.
- DataForSEO receives submitted website, service, location, and search-query information needed to retrieve search, website, backlink, local-listing, and competitor data for an audit.
- OpenAI may process submitted business context and measured audit evidence to help produce a narrative review.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business reorganization where the recipient must continue to honor applicable privacy obligations. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
These providers maintain their own privacy information: DataForSEO, OpenAI, and Cloudflare.
Retention and security
We retain inquiry and audit information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the requested work, manage a potential or active client relationship, prevent abuse, maintain business records, and meet legal obligations. Retention may vary with the nature of the request. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or make it non-identifying.
We use administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we hold, including restricted access and one-way hashing of network identifiers used by the application. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so please use the forms only for the information they request.
Your choices
You may ask MooseRank to confirm whether we hold personal information about you, correct inaccurate information, or delete information that is no longer needed, subject to reasonable identity verification and any lawful retention requirement. You may also opt out of nonessential follow-up by replying to a message or emailing us.

Children, international use, and changes
The website and services are intended for businesses and adults, not children under 13, and MooseRank does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
We may update this policy as the site, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top will be revised when a material update is published.
